Kilmore see off Town to move to top of the table

Kilmore United continued their promising start to the season as they saw off New Ross Town 3-0 on Sunday to move to the top of the Division 1 table.

The prolific Shane Cassidy helped himself to a double, while Devin Furlong got their other goal.

St. Cormac’s put on a fivestar display against St. Leonards as they cruised to a 5-0 victory. Brendan Burke sent them on their way, before Jack White doubled their advantage, and a Jamie Dempsey-Doyle free-kick had them three goals to the good at the break.

Burke added two more to their tally after the interval to complete his hat-trick and wrap up a good day’s work for St. Cormac’s.

North End United and Cloughbawn had to settle for a point apiece after playing out a scoreless stalemate.

Leaders Glynn Barntown extended their advantage at the top of the Division 2 table, but they were made to work extremely hard by Enniscorth­y United before eking out a 2-1 win. Shane Wilde opened the scoring for the table-toppers with just two minutes on the clock. United responded well to the setback and controlled the game for the remainder of the first-half and got their reward when Jamie Fox fired a penalty into the top corner.

The sides went in 1-1 at the break but, similar to the first-half, Glynn Barntown were quickly out of the blocks and Wilde grabbed his second five minutes after the turnaround, which turned out to be the winning goal.

Second-placed Adamstown fought back from conceding two goals in the opening half hour to salvage a 2-2 draw away to Rosslare Port.

Jamie McMahon and Gary Firman put Port in control but Ian White and Conor Hickey scored to earn a point for the visitors.

Crossabeg suffered their first defeat of the season when going down 2-0 to Ferns United

Goals from Tom Sinnott and Brian O’Connor saw Killenagh Wanderers earn a 2-1 win over Taghmon United, with Seamie McLoughlin replying.

Curracloe United picked up their first win of the campaign as Niall Kelly, Kerill Sutton, Robbie Staples and Stephen McGuire all got on the scoresheet in a 4-0 triumph over Shelburne.

Gorey Rangers continued their 100 per cent start to their Division 3 campaign as they made it a magnificen­t seven wins in a row when seeing off Bree United 3-2 on Sunday.

Marc Flanagan, David Curley and Killian Cushe got their goals.

Enniscorth­y Town went on a scoring spree against Wexford Albion as they ran out 12-0 winners. Darren Cullen hit the back of the net four times, Aaron Moorehouse bagged a double, while Darragh O’Grady, Paul Devereux, Danny O’Brien, Joe Hyland, Wayne Doyle and Eamonn Cash added a goal apiece.

Edward Fitzpatric­k, Paddy Kavanagh and Jamie Farrell got the goals for Bunclody in their 3-2 win over Wexford Celtic.

Oylegate United moved level with Wexford Bohs at the top of the Division 3A table after seeing off previously unbeaten Forth Celtic 3-1 on Sunday.

Gerry Heanue, Lee Kehoe and Barry Dunne got the goals for Oylegate as they marked their first game on their new pitch with a victory.

Carne FC moved to within a point of leaders Gorey Celtic after overcoming The Ballagh United 3-2 in Division 4 on Sunday.

Nathan Murphy bagged a double for the winners, with Dale Ellard grabbing their other goal and The Ballagh replying through Kevin Sinnott and an own goal.

Camolin Celtic hit seven goals without reply in Curracloe, with Keith Crosbie (two), Glen Carton, Stuart Byrne, Peter Nash, Luke Byrne and Peter McSwiney scoring for the visitors. Ferns United also got three points on the board, thanks to a 2-1 win in Campile.

Mark O’Neill was the match-winner for Enniscorth­y Town on Sunday, netting the only goal of the game as his side saw off Rosslare Port 1-0.

Brandon Cullen and Jamie Cahill got the goals for Taghmon United in their 2-2 draw with Killenagh Wanderers, with John Sinnott and Billy Dunne replying. Darren Blackburn hit the back of the net for Caim United as they drew 1-1 with Castledock­rell.

New Ross Town joined Wexford Bohs at the summit of Division 5 after a 7-1 win over Ajax Athletic on Sunday.

Rhys Dunne bagged a hattrick for Shamrock Rovers in their 5-0 win over All Blacks, with Steve O’Brien and Kevin Dugdale also getting in on the act.

Aaron Collier, Aidan Mahon and James Dunne hit the back of the net for Bunclody as they saw off Wexford Celtic 3-0.
