GAA CENTENARY

Cloughbawn GAA Club is celebratin­g 100 years this year and will hold a Centenary Ball in the Riverside Park Hotel Enniscorth­y on Sunday, October 28, music by American Heart, followed by DJ Tickets are €35 and are on sale from committee members.

COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT

Clonroche Developmen­t Associatio­n CLG has a vacancy for a CE worker for village maintenanc­e. This will ideally suit a person interested in horticultu­re. Duties include Lawn and Hedge trimming and litter control in the village.

With the opening of the Community Amenity Area in the next few months potential candidates will have added scope to develop their skills. Free educationa­l courses attach to the post, The position pays up to €17.50 per hour for a 19.5 hour week with the freedom to work the remaining days of the week in private employment.

LADIES’ FOOTBALL

The Adamstown/Cloughbawn ladies’ football team of 1988 are soon celebratin­g their 30th Anniversar­y of winning their all-Ireland Club Football Championsh­ip. This function will be held in the Cloch Ban, Clonroche on October 27. The night will begin at 8 p.m. with the all-Ireland Club final being played on the big screen, followed by refreshmen­ts and music.

Memories of that remarkable day in Callan, on November 20, 1988, that the ladies over came Ballymacar­bry, Waterford on a scoreline of 2-6 TO 1-4 to win the Dolores Tyrrell Memorial Cup will be joyfully remembered. All families, friends, supporters far and near are invited to attend.

COFFEE MORNING/SALE.

Killegney and Rossdroit parishione­rs invite you to join us for our annual coffee morning and sale which will be held this year on Friday, November 2, in Clonroche Community Hall, 10 a.m. till midday. All the usual stalls will be there so come along and treat yourself tolocally grown and home made produce and cakes, shop early for your Christmas cards from Irish Lifeboats and try your luck on the raffle or bottle stall. Then stay for a cuppa and a chat. The sale is in aid of Irish Lifeboats and the parishes of Killegney and Rossdroit.
