A Camolin twist on Four Weddings and a Funeral
A rather hilarious Camolin version of ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ has been created by the Camolin Community Development Association in a bid to raise €8,000 towards the ‘Bann River Eco Walk’ project.
Paul Gardiner from Camolin put pen to paper and wrote a piece based around Hugh Grant’s character and his group of friends from the iconic film, but instead it’s centred on characters from Camolin village.
Directed by Jimmy Kavanagh and music by Mouse, the wonderful cast will take to the stage on Friday, November 30, at 9 p.m., in the Ashdown Park Hotel, followed by some dancing from live wedding band ‘Take 5’ and a DJ till late.
Committee member Paul Kidd said the Association was awarded €48,000 from Wexford County Council’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme, but to unlock this amazing amount the group have to raise €8,000 so as to complete their Eco Walk trail situated in the community field.
‘If we raise €8,000 we have the Match Funding to unlock the €48,000,’ said Paul. ‘Through everyone’s support we are close to that elusive €48,000.’
At the moment, there is a 720 meter walking track but Paul said it is really important for the Association to get their board walk along the river Bann.
Tickets are on sale now at €10. They are available from Halford’s Hair Studio, the Ashdown Park Hotel, shops in Camolin and cast members.
