Wexford Youth Film Project receives Coca Cola funding
THE County Wexford Youth Film Project (CWYFP) has received a major cash boost after being awarded €5,000 from the Coca Cola Thank You Fund.
The project coordinator, Therese Dalton, was presented with a certificate to mark the development on the main stage at Zeminar, Ireland’s largest youth conference, which took place in Dublin.
The money was allocated as part of an overall €100,000 fund granted to 13 community groups operating throughout all of Ireland.
A spokesperson for Coca Cola said the project is innovative and supports and inspires young people across the county.
The main aim of the CWYFP is to provide an opportunity for young people to develop their creative potential through film-making.
Stefanie Preissner, the Coca-Cola Thank You Fund Ambassador, said she was overwhelmed by the diversity of the projects and she highlighted the potential impact they might have on their communities.
‘Coca-Cola invited non-profit groups to enter projects that would inspire and support young people and there is no doubt that the grant recipients and the proposed projects will certainly do that,’ said Ms Preissner.
Petre Sandru, Country Manager with Coca-Cola Ireland thanked all the organisations that applied for grants this year.
‘We are delighted to invest in young people in our communities but it is important to us that the funding provided is a catalyst for new thinking and helps support the delivery of projects and schemes that otherwise might not happen.’ he said.
Since the Thank You Fund was launched in 2011, it has invested a total of €955,000 in community groups and non-profit organisations throughout all of Ireland.
