Bach to the Rescue with Night Remedy

I often talk about flower remedies, in particular Rescue Remedy, a remedy to deal with stressful situations. My mother believes in Rescue Remedy Night, this is a variation of Rescue that helps switch off unwanted thoughts. Mam regularly uses it to help relax when she can’t sleep, or when she is anxious, agitated, or worried about anything. She wouldn’t be without it.

Recently mam ended up in hospital, quite unexpectedly; she gave us all a fright. Thankfully she is ok now, it will take a while for her to recover fully and get back to her normal self. But, what I want to tell you is how much comfort she got from her little yellow bottle of Bach Rescue Remedy Night.

Mam has never taken a sleeping tablet but in hospital she decided to since she wasn’t sleeping, and was feeling anxious. It turned out to be a very bad idea, she didn’t have a pleasant experience nor did she have a good night sleep.

She was hallucinating a little and didn’t like that feeling at all. So she said that she would stick with her Rescue and asked us to bring it in for her.

One night she was awakened unexpectedly so that the doctors could do a test. They frightened the heart out of her; she said that she shook like a leaf from the shock of being woken so suddenly. She didn’t know what was happening, she felt shaky and asked for her Rescue to calm her down. She said she could feel herself relaxing as soon as she took it.

You see the thing is, my mam doesn’t like hospitals, in fact she fears them. She always says that if you go in you never come out. So it was lovely that she had some small piece of comfort in a stressful, fearful and anxious situation.

Mam was on lots of medications trying to normalise her situation. She needed to be in hospital - there was no natural remedy that could deal with the issues that she was experiencing. It can be a small thing that gives us comfort and I for one am glad that mam got a bit of comfort from her little yellow bottle of Rescue Remedy Night.
