Sweet win for Forest Candy by four lengths

THE LAST major event of 2018 got under way at Enniscorthy Greyhound Track on Monday of last week, with all six heats run of the Roban Financial Christmas Unraced Stake.

In heat three, Forest Candy, owned by Caroline Donovan from Kildare, was quickest of the round when proving four lengths too good for Tomhaggard Lady in a good 29.38 -40 slow.

The second round continues this week and there is sure to be some improvers.

Race eight saw a good effort from Tullycanna Dot, owned and trained by Joe Anglim, making every post a winning one and coming home a clear three-length winner in a good 31.98 (575) -40 slow.

Thursday night saw an all-graded card that produced some nice runs, starting in race one as Ballybreen King was always in control to score in a good time.

Race four saw an overdue win for the very consistent bitch Flying Lola who battled it out to get the better of favourite Cill Dubh Chief over the 575 trip to score by a length.

Race seven saw Hot Diggity Dog lead but being all out to hold the late challenge of Toker Olivia by a neck, while in race nine Bistro Majestic continued his good run of form when scoring a snug three and a half lengths win over the 575 distance.

The Christmas party nights will be coming up soon, and racing will be moving to Friday nights in December.
