DOWN SYNDROME IRELAND

The Wexford Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland wishes to thank everyone who gave so generously to their recent church gate collection in Kilmuckrid­ge, amount collected and banked was €368-20, thanks to the collectors for all their time and help. All the money collected will stay in the branch to be used to benefit all the children and adults in the branch.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS MARKET

Coláiste an Átha annual Christmas Market will take place on Friday, November 30, from six – 8 p.m. This event will be hosted by the TY and LCA students. The students will be selling their own enterprise projects on the night. Coláiste an Átha looks forward to welcoming the local community to our school Gym to browse an array of stalls and games. Get into the festive spirit and enjoy our choir, start your Christmas early and pick from crafts, gifts, confection­ery and jewellery sold by our students and local vendors. The all-Ireland One Act Drama finals will run from Friday, December 7, to Sunday, December 9, inclusive, in the KMH the Drama Festival committee are very proud to be hosting such an event and the audiences and groups alike will benefit from its greatly enhanced, warm and comfortabl­e facilities with improved theatre specificat­ions.

Mr Michael Stafford will perform the opening on Friday, December 7, and adjudicato­r for the festival is Imelda McDonagh. The Kilmuckrid­ge Drama Festival Committee last hosted the One Act all-Ireland Festival in 1988.

ART EXHIBITION

In conjuntion­n with the all-Ireland One Act Drama Festival, there will be an ehibition ‘Reminiscen­t’, of work by three proficient Wexford Artists in the Upton Court Hotel on December 6 at 7 p.m. Opening and wine reception at 7 p.m. Guest speakers – Lisa Byrne and Michael Johnston. Reminiscen­t is a series of work featuring visual artists; Sheena Furlong, Paula Tate and Trish Middleton. They have come together using their individual artistic styles to produce a body of work which reflects the drama of both life and nature.

Active Retirement Kilmuckrid­ge Active Retirement Group meets in the Upton Court Hotel every second Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m., starting on Thursday, November 8, activities includes: Bingo, Cards, arts and crafts, annual Holiday, Chat, come along have a cup of tea and make new friends. SOCIAL WALKING/ RUNNING GROUP

An open social walking/running group has commenced in Kilmuckrid­ge. Meets will take place at 8.30 p.m. each Monday to Friday evening starting at St Joseph’s NS for anyone who wishes to take part. Anyone interested can join the informatio­nal What’s App Group by contacting Yvonne O’Sullivan at 087 9555282 or otherwise simply turn up any evening that suits and join in. At least two members of the group will definitely be out each of the nights except for nights where a Red Warning has been issued for the area.

This is a casual group set up to encourage people to get out and about with others in the community for some gentle exercise at a pace that suits each individual. Looking forward to meeting any new joiners.

There is a Charity Bingo night in the Crosses Kilmuckrid­ge every Thursday at 8.30 p.m. Next Bingo on Thursday, November 29, is for Kilmuckrid­ge Family Resource Centre. Jackpot €450. Free raffle.
