Christmas is coming and Tinahely is open for business

-

CHRISTMAS is coming and Tinahely is open for business.

The picturesque South Wicklow village is brimming with festive cheer and following a successful tree-lighting ceremony on Sunday, is twinkling and sparkling to perfection.

The dedication of a local committee ensured that the village is decorated to perfection and the ceremony welcomed young and old from Tinahely village and surrounding areas for an afternoon of celebration.

The Market square was the focal point where the unveiling and blessing of the new outdoor crib, carol singing and the switching on of the Christmas lights took place.

There was also a visit by Santa Claus and his elves who brought along some treats for the local children which were given out at the magical grotto set up at the Courthouse Arts Centre.

The popular local venue is looking beautifully festive and has some exciting Christmas events scheduled including a screening of classic movie ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ on Thursday, December 13 at 8 p.m.

Tinahely is a great place to shop local and many traders are fully stocked and open for business.

Now is the time to get your last minute orders in, prepare your home, ensure your vehicle is winter-ready and tick off your shopping list so that when Christmas arrives, you will be relaxed and ready to celebrate and even enjoy a festive meal or drink in the village.

There’s no need to travel long distances when much of what you need is available on your own doorstep.

Avoid the rush, traffic, queues and hefty parking charges by supporting local traders and jobs.
