CHRISTMAS FAIR

Soak up the magic of the festive season and enjoy a great afternoon at Kilanerin Community Centre on Sunday, December 16, from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. There will be a wide range of Christmas themed stalls from local food producers, Craft Stalls and Local Services. With mince pies, mulled wine and a special visit from Santa it’s sure to get you in the Christmas spirit. All Vendor Stalls cost €15 which supports our local Playground Fund. Everyone is welcome. COFFEE MORNING

There will be a Christmas coffee morning, cake sale, Christmas flower arrangemen­ts by Margaret Woodbyrne and raffle on Sunday, December 16, in Shamrock Hall Kilanerin 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All support of home baking, raffle prizes and help on the day would be very welcome. Home baking and donations can be left into the hall on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. Proceeds in aid of church fund.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Well done to the under-20 footballer­s who beat Taghmon/ Adamstown in the quarter final. The semi-final was on Sunday the ninth v Forth and Bargy (Our lady’s island area).

There was no lotto jackpot winner on the third, but there were six match-three winners. The numbers were 8, 10, 17 and 25. The Christmas draw takes place on Monday the 17th in Noel’s. The jackpot is now at €6,100. Nice timing to win.

Top Score was Arlene Dooley. First lady was shared by Ann Fleming and Peg Kennnedy and half time lady was Kathleen Carr. First gent was Donal Kavanagh, second gent was Michael Murphy and half time gent was Ross Bailey. Raffle winners were Keith Bailey, George Gilbert and Cyril Byran. Whist continues on Wednesday night at 8.30 p.m. Christmas Whist: Will take place on December 19 at 8.30 p.m.

There will also be a whist in Kilanerin Hall on Sunday, December 30, at 2.30 p.m. All money raised will go towards buying a Defibrilla­tor for Ballyfad so that it will be available to members of the public in the event of someone in the area suffering from a cardiac arrest. In such a situation, a person becomes unresponsi­ve and stops breathing. The ambulance service must be called straight away. CPR should be commenced and the defibrilla­tor should be used as soon as possible. This is a very worthy cause and all support would be very much appreciate­d.

Pilates is on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Shamrock hall in Kilanerin €6 per class or eight classes for €45.
