BUSINESS OWNERS LOOK FORWARD TO MOVING BACK INTO PREMISES

- By SARA GAHAN

Work is under way on rebuilding the buildings along the forecourt of Circle K Daybreak petrol station on the Arklow Road with several owners hoping to move back into their former shops.

The buildings were gutted in a suspected arson attack last September.

The fire completely destroyed two businesses – The Superior Vape Shop and BodyCraft Gorey, while also causing extensive damage to Curves Gorey, Polski Sklep Gorey and Cash 4 Clothes.

Following the fire the business owners carried on as normal in alternative locations, but a number of them are looking forward to moving back in to their former premises.

It is believed that at least two businesses – Superior Vape Shop and Cash 4 Clothes – will make the move back into their newly redeveloped units once work is complete, over the coming weeks.

James Doran of The Superior Vape Shop has been conducting business from a portacabin the last four months, but said he is ready to move back into his new unit.

‘We are looking forward to going back into our new looking shop and thank everyone for the support,’ said James. ‘We appreciate all the customers for sticking with us through this tough time.’

Cash 4 Clothes have also been running their business from a portacabin on site too.

Curves now operate from the former Ruby Rouge premises on Esmonde Street after securing it a week after the fire, while Polski Sklep reopened on McDermott Street.
