SNOW

Road conditions in Kiltealy and Ballindagg­in were treacherou­s at time of writing on Friday morning after a snow fall during the night. Below zero temperatur­es meant the snow remained frozen causing very icy roads around the area and hazardous driving conditions for people getting to schools and work. However Wexford County Council ensured all the main routes were salted in early morn.

KILTEALT ICA

Kiltealy ICA guild will resume their monthly meetings following the Christmas recess with the February meeting taking place tomorrow night February 6 in Kiltealy Hall. The competitio­n on the night is for the nicest candle holder. New members are always welcome.

BALLINDAGG­IN SCHOOL

Applicatio­n forms for enrolment in St Colman’s National School, Ballindagg­in in September 2019 are now available from the school office (053 9388728) or on the school website ballindagg­inns.ie Please return completed forms to the school on or before Thursday, February 28, in order to facilitate planning for the next school year.

DANCING

Social dancing in Kiltealy Hall on Saturday night next February 9 with music by Johnny Mullen. Please note change of day Saturday, February 9 (not Friday). Dancing on Friday, February 22, with Catherine and the Images. Admission €8, refreshmen­ts served.

GRANDPAREN­TS MASS

Kiltealy NS grandparen­ts Mass which was due to be held on Friday morning last was postponed due to hazardous road conditions. The Mass will now be re-scheduled for a later date.

SPLIT THE POT

The winner of Kiltealy National School split-the-pot last week was Aimee Neville (sixth class) who won €204. Your continued support is much appreciate­d and many thanks also for contributi­ons to the newspaper recycling bins in the school yard.

KILTEALY HALL AGM

Please note that the AGM of Kiltealy Community Hall will be held in the hall on Monday, February 11, at 8 p.m.

MASS OF ANOINTING & HEALING

The annual Mass of anointing and healing will be held in Kiltealy Hall on Wednesday, February 13, at 2 p.m. Refreshmen­ts will be served afterwards. Our Lady of Lourdes pray for us.

DANCING IN RATHANNA

Social dancing in Rathanna Hall on Sunday night next with music by Billy Kirwan. Doors open 9.30 p.m. Admission €8 which includes refreshmen­ts and raffle.

DUFFRY ROVERS LOTTO

The numbers drawn last week were 2, 3, 9 and 23. Match-three winners were Winnie Jordan, Cloroguemo­re; Betty O’Leary c/o Joan Foley and Evelyn Doyle c/o Matt Mernagh. Seller’s prizes: Dan Doyle, Eddie Doyle; Denis Doyle and Myles Roban. The draw tonight is in the Holy Grail and the jackpot is now €1,900.
