DOYLE’S Garage Courtown is a third generation family owned business that prides itself on it’s development over the past 60 plus years. The family involvement has been unwavering since the late Jack and Eileen Doyle started out in the motor industry in the1950’s. Pat and his late wife Theresa developed it into a modern franchise dealership and Bernard, the third generation and general manager of the Courtown branch, is keeping the tradition going while his brother Paddy manages the used car branch in Camolin.

Doyle’s of Courtown was awarded the franchise for Peugeot in County Wexford almost 40 years ago and added Subaru three years ago. They have embraced massive changes in the motor industry over time and have managed to stay on top through constant investment in developing technology and an excellent commitment to aftersales. Bernard said the success of the business has stemmed from it’s strong foundation and it’s continued growth would not be possible without loyal family and staff. He looks forward to what the future will bring with the same ambition that previous generations held.

In 1989 Liam Brennan took the brave step of starting his own hardware business in Market Square, Gorey. He had 25 years experience in the trade at that stage having worked in McCormack Bros. from an early age and was ready to strike out on his own. This year Liam will be supplying the hardware and plumbing needs of the people of north Wexford and south Wicklow for 30 years. From small beginnings of 3 staffBrendan O’Toole, Mark Brennan and Mary Hayes there are now 12 people employed.

Liam’s family have always taken an active role working Saturdays and school holidays until they were old enough to join the firm on a fulltime basis. Mark, Lee and Sarah are now an integral part of the business.

Liam Brennan Hardware Ltd was set up in an old attractive stone built premises in Market Square and has expanded to three other premises along the street as they became available. The family and staff have always maintained a high level of service and pride themselves on trying to help customers solve any hardware, decorating or plumbing problems.
