GAA XLUB NOTES

There was no jackpot winner on October 21 but there were six match-three winners. The numbers were 2, 10, 16 and 28. The next two draws are on November 4 and 18. The jackpot has reached €2,800.

Team of the week has to be the under-13 Hurling Rising Stars who won their final on the 27th.

A special mention for the under-16 camogie girls who got to, but lost, their final v Buffers Alley. Saturday, November 2, had the under-13 hurlers in their final v Buffers Alley, so hopefully they got revenge. Saturday also had the under-18 camogie girls in their final v Fethard. Fethard are also the opposition for the under-15 boys’ footballers in their final on Thursday, November 14, in Patrick’s Park at 7.30 p.m. That’s after the under-15 hurlers play Bannow in their final on Saturday,

November 9, in Patrick’s Park at 12.30 p.m. Two finals for under-15s in five days.

A last reminder of the underage presentations and celebrations in the Shamrock Hall on Sunday, November 9, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone welcome to this fun occasion.

The club is holding a fundraising raffle to complete the final payment for the flood and walking track lights. The raffle draw will take place on December 16. Please support by buying a ticket or two when asked over the next few weeks. When this lighting project is completely paid, phase three in the Development Plan can be budgeted and started. That is, the extension of the clubhouse with additional dressing rooms, toilets and meeting room/ kitchen. Between the Rock and Kilanerin, the parish will have pitches, clubhouses, all-weather facilities, walking tracks and especially growing numbers of playing boys, girls and adults – factors that are the envy of many clubs in the country. A special appreciation for the funds sourcing skills of Micheál Darcy.
