-

THE new Mitsubishi L200 Series 6, which is proving a big hit in Ireland, has just been awarded ‘Pick-up of the Year’ at the Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) awards 2019. The annual awards, organised by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW) span 16 categories and recognise the most highly rated vehicles and automotive achievements of the year, with only the very best making the winners’ list.

This year the Scottish Car of the Year award ceremony was held at Edinburgh’s Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club on November 1, 2019, with the numerous awards being presented by members of the association.

Steve Graham, Sales Area Manager, Mitsubishi Motors across the water said, ‘the new Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 is the most advanced pick-up ever produced by Mitsubishi Motors and has been engineered to balance an SUV-like driving experience and specification with the traditional pick-up attributes you have come to expect from Mitsubishi Motors.’

The L200 Series 6 has been engineered to be the most capable pickup Mitsubishi Motors has ever produced, introducing car-like levels of driving refinement and state-of-the-art safety systems to the segment and offering the perfect solution to motorists looking for the practicality and versatility of a pick-up without compromising on comfort, driving pleasure or running costs.

The Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 also makes significant advances in terms of its pickup capability. It remains a tough, dependable and capable workhorse, now with an increased payload upto 1,080kg and gross train weight of upto 6,155kg, plus a significantly upgraded 4WD system with advanced Off Road Mode and Hill Descent Control on many versions, further enhancing the L200’s outstanding off-road ability. Under the bonnet, a new Euro 6d compliant 2,268cc turbo diesel engine and the choice of a six-speed manual or a new six-speed automatic transmission help deliver lower emissions and improved fuel efficiency resulting in significant fuel savings in the real world.
