GAA NOTES
Who would have known that there were so many youngsters playing with the club. Over 250 club medals were presented to teams from under five to under-14 at the club presentations held last weekend. Many thanks to Paul Galvin, Mattie Forde and our local VIPs – The Murphy Family, for doing the honours. And thanks to the patience of parents who had to stand outside the crowded hall. All the kids had seats, and that’s the main thing. There was a lot of silverware on display after a very successful year. Tara Rocks and Kilanerin clubs have a healthy future ahead.
There were two more trophies won by the older teams on November 9 the under-15 Hurlers beat Bannow in their final and an hour later, the under-18 camogie girls beat Fethard in their final. That leaves the under-15 footballers in their final on the 16th and the under-20 footballers waiting for their R2 fixture.
The Ballynastragh Gaels camogie AGM takes place in the Rock complex on Friday the 22nd at 7.15 p.m. That is followed by Tara Rock club AGM
