AWARD WINNERS

Congratula­tions to Bree Tidy Town Committee and to Bree CEP on winning a Tidy Town Co Endeavour Award at the recent annual award ceremony of Wexford County Council Environmen­t Awards. Congratula­tions also to Bree ICA as winners of the Best Community Project to improve accessibil­ity to Infrastruc­ture in Keep Wexford Beautiful Awards for 2019 for their ICA garden.

BREE ACTIVE RETIREMENT

The November social of Bree ARA takes place in Bree Community Centre this Wednesday, November 20, Please bring your raffle tickets to this meeting. CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Galbally Community Centre, will host a Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday next, November 24, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lots of local crafters will be in attendance with almost 20 tables already booked in with numerous gift ideas from a variety of vendors. Come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, bring the kids to see Santa (who will arrive at 4 p.m.) and meet friends and neighbours while supporting your local Community Centre. Any person from the Bree, Galbally or Ballyhogue area who got married since late 2017 and would like to have their marriage recorded in the Bree Parish Journal No 19 please email breeparish­journal@gmail.com with the names of both parties, townland of person or persons from parish, otherwise parishes/ town/county or country of other party and also date of marriage.

ST STEPHEN’S DAY FUN RUN/WALK

The time to dust down the runners is approachin­g in time for Galbally’s ‘overindulg­ence’ festive run, walk, trot or pram push. Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 5k fun run/walk on St Stephen’s Day, December 26. The event will begin at midday, with registrati­on taking place from 11.30 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for adults, €10 for a family. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a fun community event.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

We are holding a Christmas Craft Fair to help us raise funds for the Enniscorth­y Group of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust, who bring children and young adult from around the local area to Lourdes at Easter.

BALLYHOGUE GAA LOTTO

There was no winner in the recent Ballyhogue GAA lotto draw. Numbers drawn were 1, 4, 22 and 28. Match-three winners were Dylan Codd, Michael Byrne, Sinéad Whelan, Tom Whelan, Hugh Malone, Ruth Finn, Tyler Macy, Keeva Hyland and Kevin O’Brien. Next draw is November 27 and the jackpot now stands at €4,600.

BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparatio­ns are under way for this year’s edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisati­ons in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready as soon as possible.

The committee is also looking for photograph­s particular­ly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publicatio­n pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebratio­ns. DRAUGHTS AND CHESS

Draughts and Chess classes take place in Bree Community Centre from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday nights. All children from the parishes of Bree, Davidstown and Cloughbawn under-eight-15 years are welcome to come along. Cost is €2 per child to a max of €5 per family.

BREE AC NEWS

Congratula­tions to Jayden Kenny, who won a Leinster Medal in the recent Cross Country Championsh­ips. Bree AC AGM will take place in Bree Community Centre on Thursday, December 5, at 7.30 p.m. As this is our 50th AGM.

Indoor Athletic Training has resumed in Bree Community Centre on Thursdays at 7 p.m. for five- to 11-year-olds and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Bree Athletic Club members. Cost is €2 per child to max of €5 per family. Bree Bingo Bingo continues Tuesdays at 9 p.m. in Byrnes of Bree. Books are €10 on the night and €2 bonus sheets are available.

BREE NS ENROLMENTS

Scoil Seosaimh Naofa, Bree are currently seeking expression­s of interest for Junior Infant enrolments for September 2020. If you wish to place your child’s name on the enrolment list, please contact Melissa at reception 053 9247725 or email secretary@breens.ie enrolment packs will be forwarded to successful applicants in the Spring term of 2020.

We are also seeking informatio­n for future enrolments from 2021 onwards. Again, if interested, please contact school as above.

YOGA CLASSES

Yoga Classes continue in Bree Community Centre with Grace Reddington on Thursday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. and on Monday nights from 8.15 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Please bring your own mat. Cost is €10.
