BALLINDAGGIN STORY HOUSE

The talent at Ballindaggin Story House last week was of the highest calibre and the variety displayed would be difficult to surpass. Sally Hobson entertained by dancing a hornpipe.

A vote of sympathy was expressed to Margaret White on the death of her brother Art Foley, who was the legendary Wexford goal keeper 1954, 55, and 56 all-Ireland’s. He was renowned for denying Christy Ring his eighth all-Ireland medal by saving what should have been a goal and secured an all-Ireland win for Wexford in 1956. It’s the end of an era as he was one of the last surviving members of the great teams of them years.

Sympathy was also extended to Carmel Ennis on the death of her brother. Prayerful good wishes to all who are unwell at present. Ida Hobson was congratulated on her 90th birthday and was presented with a beautiful oil portrait painted by Susie White, who presented it to Ida amid loud applause.
