CHRISTMAS FAIR AND BAZZAR

Ballycanew National School parents’ associatio­n will hold their annual Christmas Fair and Bazzar on Sunday, December 15, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monster Raffle. Fabulous craft stalls. Lots of fun activities. The Ballycanew Parents Assocaitio­n would love you to come and join them in an evening of festive fun for all the family.

REMEMBRANC­E TREE

Remember a loved one who is not by your side this Christmas. Ballycanew National School will be lighting up their school this year with a large outdoor Christmas Tree. You can buy a bulb for our tree and write a personal message which will then be hung on the tree rememberin­g a loved one who is not by our side this Christmas. Bulbs are €5 and can be got from the school office, Tina’s Hair Salon, Brooks, Day Break. All proceeds to Ballycanew NS Fundraisin­g Appeal.

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS CONCERT.

Internatio­nally acclaimed soprano Deirdre Masterson and friends presents the ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ on Friday, December 20, in St Michael’s Church, Gorey. Special guests performanc­es on the night from the Irish College of Music Theatre and Ballycanew NS Choir.

Mulled wine reception from 6.30 p.m. with concert starting at 7.30 p.m. Tickets €20, concession­s available. Tickets available from school office, Gorey parish office, The Wine Buff and online with Eventbrite. All proceeds will go to Ballycanew NS Fundraisin­g Appeal.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to the Saturday, November 16, winner of the split-the-pot, Charlie Martin and the prize money was €209. Congratula­tions. Thanks to everyone for their continued support.

ST PATRICK’S GAA LOTTO

The winner of last week’s jackpot was Liam Kielthy; winning numbers were 9, 10, 11 and 25. Two matched three numbers to each receive €75: Des Furlong; Charlie and Nora.

WHIST DRIVE RESULTS

Results of whist drive held in hall on Friday night, November 8, Gents; first Noel Carter; second – Beta Gahan; third V Tomkins; Gents Half Time Florence Kavanagh: Ladies first Mary O’Brien; Ladies – second Bob Hayes; third Joan Finnegan; Ladies Half Time: Aidan Gahan. Whist drive every Friday night in the hall.

BALLYCANEW RESOURCE CENTRE

Ballycanew Resource Centre will host the following. Teen club is on this week open for teens in the area from secondary school 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Open mornings for tea and coffee from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Community office open if anyone has printing or computer needs from nine.midnight.

Social media for small business classes start Tuesday, November 19, 10 a.m to midday – cost of €20 starting with Facebook Community cinema will return on Friday the 29th 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Computer classes run in conjunctio­n with rural links will start in the next few weeks anyone interested contact Aislinn at 087 2127614. Classes are free of charge.
