Live crib is a top attraction

-

HAVING become a firm favourite with families in recent years, Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and a whole host of live animals will return to town to celebrate the festive season with the IFA’s Live Crib.

This year’s event is set to take place at the Farm Centre in Enniscorthy this coming Sunday from 12 noon until 4 p.m. and promises to be among the biggest yet. A live nativity play will take place throughout the day and there will also be performances from the Enniscorthy Gospel Choir. A special visitor is also planned in the form of Santa himself, who will be dropping by to check on the boys and girls and hear some Christmas wishes.

There will also be a Monster Raffle on the day with a whole host of excellent prizes including hotel getaways, vouchers and delicious meals. There will be plenty for the little ones to see and do with face painting, a colouring competition and of course the live animals which they’ll get to see up close and personal.

‘It’s been very popular in the last couple of years,’ said IFA Chairman James Kehoe. ‘I think last year we had over 250 children in to see Santa and we’re hoping this year it’s going to be even bigger. We managed to raise over €3,000 for the Hope Cancer Support Centre last year and hopefully we can do similar this year. We’re also hoping to be able to send someone to Lourdes with the money raised. We’d encourage the people of Enniscorthy to come along and give whatever they can.’
