Wexford Bus wins major award

-

WEXFORD Bus has been named the best commuter service in the country at the 2020 Fleet Bus & Coach Awards which celebrate and honour best practise in the sector.

Having received the award for ‘Coach Operator the Year 2020 - Commuter’, Brendan Crowley, Managing Director of Wexford Bus, said, ‘We are very proud of this award, our team work continually to offer a safe, reliable and seamless service and this award is a testament to that.

‘We will carry in excess of one million passengers this year, a large proportion of whom commute daily, so this is award is very fitting. We have introduced many initiatives to enhance the experience for commuters and we are delighted that these have been acknowledged among such tough competition.’

One of those initiatives is Wexford Bus’ dedicated seat reservation system for daily commuters which enables them to book a seat each day for the service they will be travelling on so they can be sure to arrive on time for work or college.

Wexford Bus employs a team of over 70 people in Wexford and currently has a fleet of 45 coaches. It was one of 12 coach operators to take to the stage to accept an award at the ceremony in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin.

In terms of services, it currently operates an extensive network of national and local licensed scheduled services, connecting most of the major towns in the South East and all of Wexford’s towns. It also provides school transport, private hire and contracted services.
