On Sunday, December 1, the Men’s ‘B’ team were at home in Luke Foran Park, hosting a tough, fit Ballagh United team which included seven of the Oulart Senior hurling team in their ranks. With only five minutes played, the game had to be halted as Ger Daly received a bad arm injury which necssitated his transfer to hospital by ambulance. Immediately after the resumption, The Ballagh scored but Harry Ellix soon replied with one of the best goals ever scored in Boolavogue. Taking a long pass, he held off a strong defence and shooting from twenty five meters out, sent the shot to the roof of the net. However, the strength and physicality of the Ballagh side won through and they ran out 6-1 winners in the end.

Seán Walsh and Daire Swords returned to the side for their first match of the season and both played extremely well. The club would like to send best wishes for speedy recovery to Ger on his injury.

The ladies’ team came from two nil down at the interval to win their game against Bunclody by 4-2. Their first score came from Anais Curran, with Kate Cullen, Lorraine O’Connor and Michaela Hawkins all also rattling the net in the second half.
