Motorcyclist jailed for ‘wheelie’ stunt

-

A MOTORCYCLIST who performed a wheelie on Gorey’s Main Street was convicted of dangerous driving when the matter was considered by Judge Brian O’Shea.

Christopher Duggan (30) with an address at 29 Baile Eoghan, Gorey, was aboard an unlit Suzuki dirt bike when he went through the junction of Main Street and The Avenue on one wheel.

Garda Darragh Power reckoned it was around 1.30 a.m. on May 11 and that intoxicated people were in the area which is close to a night club.

Duggan was detained after a chase and it turned out that he was not insured to have the Suzuki on the public road.

He pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and was handed a four month jail term.

His solicitor told the court that the defendant had since moved from the Gorey area to reside at Donaghmede in Dublin. WHEELIE
