Superb display sees It’s My Luck claim the spoils

-

DESPITE THE very cold night in Enniscorthy there was a big attendance and plenty of hot action on the track at the recent greyhound race meet.

And there was a popular local winner of the feature event on the card when the Damien Kennedy of Wexford Town owned It’s My Luck put in a superb display of determination to score an impressive victory in the final of the Black and Amber Unraced Stake final, and she was cheered on with great enthusiasm by her owner and supporters all the way to the winning line.

As traps went up she took a bump with trap four runner Rateden Yevande but she was not deterred and went up to just get the bend from favourite Kereight

Henry who just caught her legs off the second bend but the Luck was quickly back in stride and she proved too strong for the favourite as she powered away to score by three and a half lengths in a very good 29.21.30slow.

She has now won three of her four races and is a nice prospect for next year.

Another man who had a great night was Rathaspick trainer Anton Butler who recorded a fine treble including two finals.

Young master Aaron Butler was the lucky owner of the two final winners starting in race two as Little Jumeira who showed nice pace down the back after a slow start to race right around the leaders at the lower bends to come on to score snugly by two lengths in 29.75.30 slow.

Next up, race six, was the

Cushie Jet A3 bitch stake, a welcome stake on the card and I feel there needs to be a lot more bitch stakes so well done to sponsor John Codd. Hopefully more sponsors will follow with more bitch stakes.

The final itself was a very good race as Telex Brat showed great determination to get up in the dying stride to catch leader Bluebell with three quarters of a length separating them on the line to give Aaron his second winner,

In the next, race seven, Hollylake Curly broke well from trap one to get the bend and ran out a snug winner in a good 29.30.30slow to complete a memorable night for Anton.

Race five, the Christmas Parties unraced final, saw a very good run from the George Roche owned Strictly Black who was very unlucky last week, but made no mistake this time.

Getting away well from trap six, he simply was far too good for the opposition as he raced home seven length clear of the field in a fast 29.11.30slow.

The was another young owner on the mark in race four, the Ballinclare Kennels A5 sweepstake final, as the Master Philip Tirney owned Neamstown Robin was quick away from traps and was always in control from there with Ballinclare Reva running on very well one and a half length’s away; time 29.48.30slow.

This Friday night is the last meeting of the year so why no come up and support the track and enjoy another great night’s racing.
