The annual ceremony was held in the prestigious Talbot Hotel, and among the finalists were the SuperValu stores in Enniscorthy, Gorey and St Aidan’s Shopping Centre, Wexford, all of which were represented at the event.
While the Wexford stores didn’t win one of the top awards this year, on the night their representatives enjoyed a cocktail reception during which they got to taste some of Edward Dillon’s best loved brands including Hennessy and Bombay Sapphire Gin.
The awards ceremony was hosted by RTE’s, Shay Byrne, with entertainment from top
Irish comedian and actress Deirdre O’Kane.
A spokesperson for the organisers commented: ‘Guests had an evening of laughter and delicious food paired with Santa Rita wines.’
To reach the final was a very commendable achievement for the Wexford stores as the finalists stores were judged by Rodney Trenwith with marks being given for a range of criteria including overall appearance, innovation and customer service.
The aim of the awards scheme is to recognise excellence across the retail chain.
Speaking at the event Andy O’Hara, CEO of Edward Dillon, said: ‘Every year the standard of stores exceeds and surpasses the year previous. It’s brilliant to see the passion that each store has to achieve excellence.’
