COOLGREANY DRAMA

Coolgreany Drama will be reprising their award-winning comedy production A Beginner’s Guide to Madness in a special celebrator­y event at at St Mogue’s Hall, Inch this Thursday, December 19, at 8 p.m.

The show will also include a stage conversati­on with the playwright, Barry McKinley and director, Sally Stevens. Tickets, including a glass of wine, are €12. Bookings – 087 2411926 (Sally) or 086 8907118 (Richard).

Coolgreany Drama recently finished in second place overall in the Open Section at the all-Ireland One Act Finals in Rossmore, Co Cork with a Beginner’s Guide, with the Best Actress Award in the Open Section going to Coolgreany’s Éadaoin Ní Líonáin and the Adjudicato­r’s Award for Innovation and Creativity going to the director, Sally Stevens.

Coolgreany Drama would also like to congratula­te all the cast and crew for achieving such a great all-Ireland result in a highly competitiv­e Open Section – Eadaoin, Sally, Norah Finn, Ned Dempsey, Eamonn O’Sheil, Nicola Conroy, Niall Hunter, Richard Lister, Maggie Murphy, Denise Moules, Nick Delany, Eddie O’Brien and Michael Murphy Congratula­tions too to Barry McKinley on winning a commendati­on in the all-Ireland New Play Writing competitio­n for Beginners’s Guide.

At the all-Ireland Final in Rossmore, Moate Club Naas won the Open Section for the second year in a row and neighbours New Ross Drama Workshop won the all-Ireland Confined Section, making it a great night overall for Wexford Drama. Coolgreany Drama would also like to thank the West Cork Drama Festival for hosting such an enjoyable all-Ireland event.

VINTAGE CLUB

A meeting of the club was held in the May Byrne House (upstairs-side door) on last Wednesday night, December 11, at 8.30 p.m.

New members were welcomed, and anyone wishing to join should contact any committee member if you wish to be a part of the club in 2020.

OLD KILNENOR HISTORICAL SOCIETY.

Our AGM took place on Thursday, December 12, at 8 p.m. in May Byrne Trust House in Coolgreany. Following the reports of the secretary, chairman, and treasurer, all of which were adopted, The following officers were elected for 2020.
