- By BRENDAN KEANE

A WOMAN has highlighted her despair at returning home to find her house broken into while she was in Wexford attending the funeral of her infant niece.

Tilly Brennan, was buried on Wednesday in Monageer Cemetery following Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Monageer.

Tilly, who was just eight-anda-half-months old passed away in Crumlin Children’s Hospital on Sunday, December 15, as a result of a medical condition called AVSD.

The condition meant she was born with several holes in her heart.

Tilly captured the hearts and minds of people all over the Enniscorthy district and fundraising events in support of her were very well supported by members of the public.

Her passing has brought immense sadness to people throughout the wider community in Ferns where her parents, Danny Brennan and Linda O’Brien, are very well known and respected.

However, the hurt and grief of her loss was compounded for her aunt, Rosemary Brennan, by her house in Dublin being broken into while she attended the funeral.

On a social media post Ms Brennan said it was one of the ‘saddest, hardest days’ of her family’s life and then she arrived home to find her house was broken into.

A number of important items were taken during the break-in including army medals belonging to her father who served his country for 24 years.

Among the other items taken were watches, papers and a family DVD.

Ms Brennan made an appeal for anyone with information about the missing items to contact their local garda station.
