COMMUNITY ALERT

As the winter long nights have drawn in, and Christmas is upon us the committee of the above are appealing to everyone in our community to be on the lookout for their neighbours, especially all those of our senior citizens who may need a helping hand to go shopping for some of the Christmas necessitie­s. It would be a great act of charity in this season of good will.

May we wish everyone in our community a very happy Christmas, Please be alert and on the lookout for all our neighbours.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Congratula­tions and very well done to everyone who was involved in the purchase and erection of the Christmas lights in our village which really brings the Christmas spirit back home to the village.

TIDY TOWNS

The committee would like to thank every who supported and helped the committee with fundraisin­g, provision of help and supporting in so many ways during the past year, and special thanks to all the voluntary workers and CE scheme members for their great work in preparatio­n of the village for the Tidy Towns competitio­n, and we wish everyone a very happy Christmas and New Year.

SCOIL IOSAGÁIN

Congratula­tions to all the teachers and pupils of the school on their recent production of their performanc­es in Inch Hall, where a very large attendance enjoyed a great night with parents and children.

BIRTHDAY WISHES

Congratula­tions and best wishes to Kitty Byrne, Johnstown House, who will celebrate her 10th birthday on December 23 and we wish her well.

OLD KILNENOR HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Our AGM took place on Thursday, December 12, at 8 p.m. in May Byrne Trust House in Coolgreany. Following the reports of the secretary, chairman, and treasurer, all of which were adopted, The following officers were elected for 2020 - Chair: Pat Cullen. Vice-chairperso­n: Vacant. Secretary (Acting): Mary Fortune. Treasurer: Bernadette Cullen. PRO: Damian Nash. Committee Members: Jim Fortune, Martha Cullen, Dan Kennedy.

Membership is now due for the following year. Fee €20, due by Thursday, February 13, 2020.
