On December 13 the prize of €172 was won by Mary Kirwan, a bingo regular. Congratula­tions, Mary. Thanks to Lena Greene and Claire Hyland, who arranged the draw. To thank our supporters we had a second prize for this and the next Friday of a Christmas Hamper which was won by Lee, Lauren and Terry, who are bingo regulars. Congratula­tions Lee, Lauren and Terry.

The coordinati­ng team for Friday, December 27, is Team 2: Moira Kavanagh, Sarah McCormack and Sorcha Kenny. Sincere thanks to all the coordinati­ng teams for their dedication throughout the year. It is a great support to the parish finances and is much appreciate­d.

CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE –

Christmas Eve Tuesday, December 24: 6 p.m. Vigil Mass with Craanford Parish Choir (Craanford) and 7.30 p.m. Vigil Mass (Monaseed) (please note earlier time in Craanford)

Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25: 9.30 a.m. Mass (Monaseed) and 10.30 a.m. Mass (Craanford – music provided by the Bass family).

Adoration will take place in Craanford Church on Monday, December 30, 9.45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1 (Public Holiday): Mass in Craanford at 9.15 a.m. and Monaseed at 9.30 a.m.

Feast of the Epiphany: since this falls on Monday, January 6, there will be Mass in Craanford at 9.15 a.m. Please note: No vigil Mass on Sunday evening, January 5.

PARISH OFFICE – Craanford parish office will close for the Christmas break on Friday, December 20, and will re open Thursday, January 2.

GAA NEWS

The hugely popular ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking initiative returns in January 2020, in partnershi­p with the GAA, Operation Transforma­tion, and Get Ireland Walking. The first date for clubs to host ‘Ireland Lights Up’ 2020 is Thursday, January 9. The aim is to make exercise more accessible on the dark winter nights and to offer local communitie­s an opportunit­y to get together and socialise in a healthy way. Walking is proven to benefit both our physical and mental health.

CLUB AGM – the Craanford Fr O’Regans club AGM is on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in Craanford Community centre at 6 p.m. Please note all nomination­s and motions to be with the club secretary by 6 p.m. January 5.

MASS – Fr Richard will offer Mass of thanksgivi­ng for our GAA and camogie club on Saturday evening. January 4 at 6 p.m. vigil Mass. All are welcome to wear club colours.

LOTTO – Wednesday the 11th draw as this week’s draw was too late for deadline of Christmas issue of paper. Jackpot €1,500. No winner. Numbers drawn were 2, 7, 14 and 29. Lucky-dip winners: Niamh Whitty, Ann Byrne, Liam Cooper, Catriona Murray c/o Patrick Murray, Martha Hogan. Seller’s prize: Niamh Whitty, bottle of Bailey’s – Jim Doyle, Box of Chocolates – Stephen Doyle. Next Week’s jackpot is €1,600 and extra raffle prizes for Christmas. The lotto draw will take place on Christmas Eve instead of the normal Wednesday night.
