Motorists convicted of various offences
MOTORING offences drew fines as Judge Brian O’Shea imposed convictions at his first District Court sitting of the new year held in Gorey.
Tony Lyons of 19 Bracken Hill, Blackwater, entered a plea of guilty through solicitor Peter Crean to being on the road at Kilmuckridge on May 1 last without an up-to-date tax disc fine €120.
Fiach James Stafford (21) from Cullentragh, Kiltealy, was summonsed as a learner permit holder on the road at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf without a qualified driver at Templeshannon in Enniscorthy early on the morning of April 13 last – fine €100.
Ryan Kirwan (18) from Dun Fiach, Monart East, Enniscorthy, was stopped by the garda traffic corps at Milehouse Road on April 18 last. A learner permit holder, he had no qualified driver with him in a Vauxhall Insignia hatchback fine €180.
Manuel Vasile Neagu (32) of 27 Court Street, Enniscorthy, was found to have no valid motor tax disc on the Audi A6 saloon he was driving at Friary Place in Enniscorthy on April 18 last year fine €160.
Andy Connors (28) from The Mobile, Templescoby, Enniscorthy, had a front tyre in very poor condition when his blue Mercedes van was inspected by a garda at Cherryorchard on April 18 last fine €120.
John Daly (37) from Coolamaine, Oylegate, was seen driving at Templeshannon in Enniscorthy while holding a phone on May 1 last fine €150.
Simon Sullivan (32) of 12 Hazelwood, Gorey, was summonsed as the person nominated by the registered owner of a vehicle detected speeding at Motabower on the evening of May 20 last at 99 km/h where the 80 km/h limit is in force fine €140.
