ARTISTS WIN BIG IN CREDIT UNION AWARDS
Artists from across County Wexford gathered in New Ross Credit Union in December for a presentation and to showcase their winning artwork from the second round of the Credit Union Art Competition 2019. First place winners have been sent forward to the third and final round at national level.
The General Category winners were: Age 7 and Under: Ella Kelly - St. Michael’s and St. Peter’s Junior School (Arklow C.U.) and Lily Kehoe – Marymount N.S. (New Ross C.U.) Oisin Howard – Shillelagh (Altura C.U.).
Age 8-10: Benjamin Blair – Gorey Central School (Altura C.U.), Lily May O’Leary – Oylegate (Enniscorthy C.U.) and Grace Byrne – Cleariestown (Cleariestown C.U.). Age 11-13: Ava Ni Mhartain – Gaelcholaiste na Mara (Arklow C.U.), Millie Rose Kavanagh – Marymount N.S. (New Ross C.U.) and Eimhin Nolan – St Colmans (Enniscorthy C.U.).
Age 14-17: Daniel Pong – St. Mary’s CBS (Enniscorthy C.U.), Kenisha Griffin – Kennedy College (New Ross C.U.) and Eve Doyle – Presentation Secondary School (Wexford C.U.)
Age 18+: Aoibhinn Kinsella –Gorey (Altura C.U.) and Victoria McHugh – New Ross (New Ross C.U.).
The winners in the Special Category were: Age 8-10: Olivia Lambert - Rathangan N.S. (Cleariestown C.U.), Kyle McCormick – Our Lady of Fatima School (Wexford C.U.) and Paidi Byrne – St. Pat’s N.S. (Altura C.U.). Age 11-13: Kyle Pitcher – Glynn N.S. (Wexford C.U.), Grace Kennedy – St. Teresa’s N.S. (Altura C.U.) and Clodagh McLoughlin – St. Pats N.S. (Altura C.U.).
Age 14-17: Debbie Pitcher – Our Lady of Fatima (Wexford C.U.) and Age 18+: Eleanor McMahon (Wexford C.U.) and Jackie Molloy – Cherrygrove Nursing Home (New Ross C.U.)
