The AGM of Gorey Active Retirement will be held in the Ashdown Park Hotel at 2 p.m. on January 28.

Please note this new venue as Loch Garman Arms being renovated at the moment.

The Spring Break to the Great National Hotel, Ballina in county Mayo will start on April 26 for five nights.

Bookings at Loch Garman Arms on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Gorey has entered two teams for the South East Region Bowls Championsh­ip to be held in Ballon Community Centre on May 12, 13 and 14.

A new year has just started and it’s a time to consider changes to our lives to make them richer and more interestin­g.

Active retirement offer weekly events like bowls on Monday,

Darts and Go for life on Tuesday, Walk on Wednesday, art on Thursday, Irish Class Friday.

In addition there are spring and autumn breaks, mystery trips, visits to theatres, Horse and dog racing, tours to places of interest, tea dances, 10 pin bowls, Christmas dinner dance.

Non-members are very welcome to find out more about all the activities by dropping into Loch Garman Arms on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and try something new. with resident MC Karl Spain.

The club is in the process of planning more events for the coming year.

Next up is I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2019 star Andrew Maxwell will take to the stage in Gorey on Friday, March 7.
