Oulart ICA guild celebrates in style
THE members of the Oulart ICA guild gathered in Kilcannon Gardens restaurant recently to celebrate their annual Christmas party.
Although held in January the party saw the group indulging in a festive flavoured meal complete with after dinner Christmas crackers.
Thirteen members of the guild attended and it proved to be a great day out.
One of the members spoke to this newspaper about the dinner and she said everyone was very appreciative of how they were treated by the management and staff in the restaurant.
‘They really laid on a lovely meal for us and the Christmas crackers were a lovely touch and very much appreciated,’ she said.
The event is organised in January each year for a number of reasons as outlined by member, Ellen McCallion.
‘Well everyone is very busy in the run up to Christmas itself and that’s one of the reasons why we held it in January,’ she said.
‘There’s also the fact that it gives people something to look forward to when the New Year comes along as well,’ she added.
‘We do it every year and this year some of our past members also came along and that was really nice to see.’
The group really got into the festive spirit and even organised their own Kris Kringle which also proved very popular on the day.
‘We really had a lovely afternoon and everyone very much enjoyed it,’ said Ms McCallion.
The organisers of the party thanked the members for turning up and expressed delight with how it went.
They also thanked the management and staff in the restaurant for adding to what for everyone concerned was a very enjoyable and relaxing afternoon
