GAA CLUB NEWS
Interesting facts were mentioned at the recent boys’ underage GAA AGM, where both Séamus and PJ were returned as chair and secretary respectively. Yes, that the club had perhaps its best year ever finishing runners-up in the Wexford club of the year. Yes, that our teams play in top or second from top divisions in both codes. Yes, that good coaching, Easter/summer/ Cúl Camps all raise the fun and standards. But most interesting was learning that there were some 230 boys and 30 coaches involved last year. Compare these numbers to the 10 or 12 coaches and 60/70 boys involved 10 or so years ago. Now add the big numbers of girls playing both codes and we get a very healthy future for the clubs and communities. With four adult men’s teams and now two adult ladies’ teams, it is no wonder that the GAA is a big part of the community.

Kilanerin NS enrolment for junior infants is open from January 2020 till March 31. Parents/ guardians interested in enrolling their child for 2020 can receive an application for enrolment by emailing kilanerinns@gmail. com, downloading it from the school website: kilanerinns.ie, obtaining it from the school office or by phoning 0402 37405/086 7767114. Completed applications may be returned to the school in person, by post or via email. Places will be awarded within 21 days of receipt of applications.
