Integer’s €40,000 for Pieta

- By DAVID LOOBY

LIFE SAVING charity Pieta House in Wexford has been boosted by a €40,000 donation from Integer.

Organised by the company’s charity committee, the idea of supporting Pieta House was put forward by committee member Pamela Kehoe who lost her husband PJ to suicide almost three years ago.

Among the fundraisers held by the Integer team was a soccer tournament, a fashion show, a raffle which saw Integer workers win prizes of €10,000, €3,000, two €1,000 prizes and €500 prizes.

Integer, the county’s largest employer, donated €15,000 to Pieta House.

Pieta House Wexford manager Pauline Lawlor and Leigh Kenny from the Dublin headquarters attended the cheque presentation where they thanked Integer for its incredible support of the organisation.

Ms Kehoe spoke about her journey with Pieta House and how its counsellors have helped her and her children through their grieving process.

She thanked Integer and its staff for supporting the fundraisers and the community of New

Ross for their contributions. ‘Pieta House is a free service. Many people don’t realise it is here in Wexford. It costs €1,000 on average to provide counselling for people so the €40,000 will go a long way. It’s a life changing service and Pauline Lawlor has helped both me and my boys so much. She saw me the very first day I arrived in Pieta House in Wexford and for her to see me stand up and share my story was emotional for her.’
