Those looking to take part in Operation Transforma­tion themselves can call in to Gorey Garda Station where high visibility jackets are available to the public free of charge.

The Spring break to the Great National Hotel in Ballina, County Mayo will start on April 26 for five nights.

The price is €350 per person sharing and €425 for singles.

Bookings will take place at the Loch Garman Arms on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Gorey has entered two teams for the South East Region Bowls Championsh­ip, to be held in Ballon Community Centre on May 12, 13 and 14.

A new year has started and it’s a time to consider changes to our lives to make them richer and more interestin­g.

Active Retirement offers weekly events like Bowls on Monday, Darts and Go for life on Tuesday, Walk on Wednesday, Art on Thursday and Irish Class on Friday.

In addition, there are Spring and Autumn breaks, mystery trips, visits to theatres, horse racing, dog racing, tours to places of interest, tea dances, 10 pin bowls and a Christmas dinner dance.

Non-members are very welcome to check out group activities by dropping into the Loch Garman Arms on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The committee asks that all bookings, payments and inquiries be made on Fridays in the Loch Garman Arms.

Féile is offering communitie­s, villages and towns, etc., in Wexford the opportunit­y and support to erect a communal focal point like the Gorey May Bush at Gorey Civic Square.

The group now has fully establishe­d Ornamental Hawthorn Trees, which are free of charge and will be perfect for everyone to come together and decorate this year.
