Inaugural awards get off to a great start in Gorey

-

IN a sold out night that brought a whole community together, the inaugural Gorey Business and Endeavour Awards at the Ashdown Park Hotel celebrated the successes of individuals and groups across the area.

Organisers Philip Cullen and Dave Howick have both been in business in the Gorey area for over 20 years and are involved with the Gorey Business Network.

They look forward to welcoming more like minded people to their open network in 2020, those who are interested in making contacts and work with others to improve their own business and in turn, the town itself.

‘The event which was attended by 360 people was a great foundation and we hope to run the same again next year.

‘In the network, we’re all businesspeople in the town, and we’re at the stage now that businesses are going well. The event was an opportunity to do something for the town, and the network allows us to find like-minded people, that are in business and know the game,’ said Philip Cullen.

Before the event, the organisers said that any profits would go towards the top five charities and community groups.

These were Gorey Rangers, Courtown RNLI, Gorey Cardiac First Responders, St Aidan’s Services and Talk to Tom.
