OLD KILNENOR HISTORICAL SOCIETY TALK.

We are delighted to announce that our next talk will be from Dr Clíodhna Ní Lionáin on ‘The find of a lifetime’ - the recently discovered burial chambers on the historic Brú na Bóinne Heritage Site – Thursday, February 20, in Shamrock Hall, Kilanerin Y25 RC58 at 8 p.m. Admission €5.

ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE.

Calling all volunteers, the next St Patrick’s Day meeting will be held Saturday, February 15, at 7.30 p.m. in the May Byrne Trust House.

All are welcome to our meetings. The parade is planned for March 17 meeting in the lower street at midday to begin at 12.30. This is followed as always with our fabulous Duck Race – tickets on sale now – you have to be in to win.

We need volunteers to help on the day either as marshals, first aiders, helping in the May Byrne serving tea and sambos or making/baking something to give visitors on the day. Please let us know if you are willing to help. This is a community effort.

We’d like to offer our condolence­s to the family of Tom Whelan, who will be sadly missed from our committee and on the day.

GOLDEN CIRCLE.

A trip to Shelbourne park has been arranged for Thursday, February 13. Bus departs castle park car park at 5.30 cost is €50 all-inclusive of bus entry and dinner. March 26 we will go to the Riverside park in Enniscorth­y to hear Mike Denver, Cost €15 bus only basis, tickets available on the door, bus departs castle park car park at 6.15.

SYMPATHY

The local community extends their deepest sympathy Bridie Cox Knockgrean­y on the recent death of her husband Pat, whose Burial took place in Ballyfad on last Thursday after 11 a.m. Mass in St David’s Church, Johnstown. May he Rest in Peace.

BREAST FEEDING SUPPORT.

This month’s La Leche League get together is on Tuesday, February 18, in the May Byrne House, Coolgreany from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Anyone, who is breastfeed­ing or pregnant, babies and toddlers welcome. Phone 086 1249962 if you need further informatio­n or breastfeed­ing support.
