SOCCER NEWS
The club’s under-12s were away to Killenagh Wanders on Satuday February 8 but were understrength due to illness and entrance exams. Aided by the strengthening wind, they were tied 2-2 at the break. The home side made good use of the wind in the second half and ran out 4-2 winners.
The under-14 team were at home, hosting Duncannon and despite the aid of the gale, only lead by a single goal from Bobby Codd, at half-time. Facing into the storm in the second half didn’t faze them in any way and goals from Seán Óg Gilbride, Seán Walsh, a second from Bobby Codd and a beauty from Mossy Walsh, had them 5-0 ahead by the time the final whistle blew. The following day, all the men’s games were called off due to Storm Ciara.
