TIDY TOWNS

Crafty Thursday is back in the Wishing Well from 9.15 a.m. Whether you want to make a pom pom rug, Garland or pom pom Easter wreath, the list is endless. Workshop presented by Wendy.

BUFFERS ALLEY GAA

CLUB DEVELOPMEN­T MONTHLY DRAW – Looking for your continued support for 2020. Subscripti­on to the draw stands at €120 for the full year or if you wish, you can pay monthly. The draw takes place on the last Thursday of every month with €650 in prizes to be won in every draw. All names to be submitted asap.

WHO WANTS TO BE A THOUSANDAI­RE – Buffers Alley host Who Wants to be a Thousandai­re in the Upton Court Hotel, Kilmuckrid­ge on Saturday, March 14. The nationwide game show experience should be a great way to get St Patrick’s weekend on the way. Everyone, who buys a ticket has an opportunit­y to participat­e in the quiz and be in with a chance of winning a prize (up to €1,000). Tickets cost €20 or a family ticket for four people €50. Don’t miss it. In addition to giving the audience a good social night, it is a thank you to the numerous exhibitors who have subscribed very generously to this fundraiser. Come along and bring your friends.

Irish Scholarshi­p Opportunit­y – Buffers Alley GAA Club, in conjunctio­n with Wexford GAA, are giving young players an opportunit­y to attend a Gaeltacht course in Coláiste Laighean in New Ross for two weeks in the summer. Each club is asked to submit the names of two underage players who would be interested in putting their name forward for an open draw at county level. The courses are for sixth class to second year and another one for second to fifth year. Any member of Buffers Alley interested in finding out more or wishing to put their name forward is asked to contact Domhnall McArdle (underage secretary) on or before Wednesday, February 26. If there are more than two interested in the club, a draw will take place to decide which names go forward.

GAA FOUNDATION COURSE – Our club in conjunctio­n with our GPO, James Donoghue will be running a Foundation Coaching Dual course for hurling and gaelic football commencing February 24 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for three Mondays in a row. Charge will be €10 per mentor. All mentors involved with teams under-seven to under-17 must have this Foundation Level coaching course level but the course is open to everyone including adult players/mentors/ parents or anyone who might like to get involved in coaching at our nursery, summer camps, teams etc. in the future. It is also a great course for parents so that they can help their children continue to practice the basic skills at home. LEINSTER CLUB HURLING LEAGUE – Our adult men are out in the first round of the Leinster Club Hurling league on Saturday next 22nd away to Glenealy. Good Luck to all.

TONY DORAN GAA QUIZ – This year the GAA Quiz will take place on Thursday, February 20, at 8.30 in the clubhouse and we extend a warm welcome to old friends and we invite new friends to come and take on the challenges set by Tony.
