Gorey Active Retirement are moving their activities to the new GAA Club Hall at Tara Rock where they will start on Monday, March 9.

The bowls group will start at 1 p.m. and finish at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 3.

Go for Life takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with darts from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Art is on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Members say that there is plenty of parking at the GAA Club Hall.

The committee will continue to meet members at the Loch Garman Arms on Fridays and any other events will be dealt with there.

March 21 sees a trip to the National Opera House, Wexford for Symphony Music from The Movies.

Upper Circle is €20 per person and can be booked on Fridays.

April 18 sees a trip to the National Concert Hall for ‘Thank You For The Music’. The cost is €32.

The spring break to the Great National Hotel, Ballina,

Co Mayo will start on April 26 for five nights. The price is €350 per person sharing and €425 for singles. Bookings at the Loch Garman Arms on Fridays.

Gorey has entered two teams for the South East Region Bowls Championsh­ip, which will be held in Ballon Community Centre on May 12, 13 and 14.

Being active improves one’s health and prolongs life so why not get out there as Active Retirement offers weekly events like Bowls on Monday, Darts and Go for life on Tuesday, Walk on Wednesday, Art on Thursday, Irish Class Friday.

In addition, there are spring and autumn breaks, mystery trips, visits to theatres, horse racing, dog racing, tours to places of interest, tea dances, ten pin bowls and a Christmas dinner dance.

Non-members are very welcome to check out activities by dropping into the Loch Garman Arms on Fridays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. All bookings, payments and inquiries should be made on Fridays in the Loch Garman Arms.
