Two hurling dream teams full of talent

GER SWEENEY from Glynn has taken up the challenge of naming his best Wexford hurling team since 1970, and he’s come up with a formidable selection. There’s several interestin­g difference­s from the final side revealed by Brendan Furlong a fortnight ago.

For starters, Ger has found places in his back line for three worthy candidates in John Conran, Colm Kehoe and Colm Doran.

Adrian Fenlon also gains inclusion in the middle of the field, while the forward line features Ned Buggy and Tom Dempsey.

Ger’s full selection is: Damien Fitzhenry; John Conran, Liam Ryan, Colm Kehoe; Liam Dunne, Michael Jacob Snr., Colm Doran; Adrian Fenlon, Diarmuid O’Keeffe; Martin Storey, Martin Quigley, Ned Buggy; John Quigley, Tony Doran, Tom Dempsey.

For starters, Keith Rossiter is slotted in at right corner-back, while there’s a place at left half-forward for Christy Keogh.
