With the current restrictio­ns in place across the country on health grounds, North Wexford SPCA will be restrictin­g public access to the cats and dogs in their care and will not be taking in any more animals.

The committee hope that all members are keeping well and following the HSE guidelines.

Members should ideally self isolate as much as possible, order food online or by phone and have it delivered, however plan ahead as there are long delivery times in most supermarke­ts.

If you are under 70 and have no underlying conditions and are going out within your five kilometre radius, take hand sanitizer with you and use regularly.

Keep distance from others and pay by card if possible to avoid handling money.

Gorey Active Retirement welcomes the latest lifting of restrictio­ns as it brings back some normality, and would encourage older people who are going out for walks to walk in areas that are less frequented with people.

All at Gorey Active Retirement hope that the end will not be too much longer, and ask that you continue what you are doing and you will be safe.

Cancellati­ons: Due to continued Covid-19 activity and closure of venues the following events are cancelled.

Spring break will be converted to an Autumn Break in Ballina from October 4 to October 9.

Payments made will be carried forward to autumn break, wile the national concert hall refund will be paid when we meet on Fridays.

Tea Dance in Ashdown Park Hotel, a later date will be considered
