Lighbulb moment for innovative company
HARTE Outdoor Lighting, a Ross-based manufacturer of cast iron outdoor lighting, has launched a new service to help people plan their garden lighting without having to come to its showrooms in person.
Recognising that people are now making huge efforts to curtail their travel and interactions with others to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus, Harte Outdoor Lighting has developed a new facility which allows those interested to see how their lights or postboxes will look in their own garden before they buy.
Customers can use the new service by emailing a high-quality photograph of their garden and telling Hartes which product or products they are interested in. One of the team at Harte Designs will then superimpose the light or postbox into the photograph and email it back.
According to the company, this complimentary service will cut out the inconvenience of travelling to the workshop in New Ross, where all of Harte’s products are crafted, and help customers to continue to stay at home and stay safe.
‘We are really delighted to be back open now and we welcome visitors to our showroom – asking all to comply with our Covid-19 safety procedures,’ said Jack Harte. ‘However, we know that not everyone will be comfortable doing that, so we came up with a simple, clever way to meet their needs while reducing the need for travel.’
He said this new ‘Virtual View’ service is one of the ways that the company is pivoting to ensure that it is serving customers in the best way possible.
Established in 1983, Harte Outdoor Lighting designs and produces a wide range of cast iron lights in traditional designs as well as more contemporary pieces in galvanised steel.
The firm also has a range of heritage cast iron post boxes from its premises in New Ross.
