A WOMAN accused of murdering her husband in Gorey has been sent forward for trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.

Sarah Doyle made a brief appearance at the District Court in Wexford before Judge Brian O’Shea, where she faced a charge alleging that she murdered her husband Philip Doyle at their Gorey home on January 26.

The address was given in court documents as 112 The Heath, Ramsgate Village, Gorey. The 31-year-old was previously resident in Bray.

Dressed in a black suit and an orange shirt she stood at the back of the courtroom during the hearing.

Prosecuting Detective Sergeant Noel McSweeney gave formal evidence of having served the book of evidence on the defendant.

Ms Doyle was represented during the hearing by solicitor Donagh Molloy.

The court was told that that matter will be dealt with in due course at the Central Criminal Court.

Judge O’Shea approved the assignment of two barristers to the case under the free legal aid scheme, then formally sent the accused forward for trial in the Central Criminal Court at Parkgate Street in Dublin.

Ms Doyle was free to leave the courthouse in Wexford after signing her bail bond. Bail was granted under terms set out by the High Court.

A man called O’Higgins was present as having gone surety and he confirmed that he was happy to continue in that role as bail was renewed.
