ST CORMAC’S CHURCH

With strict lockdown once again upon us, there will be no public Masses in St Cormac’s church till matters ease. However, you can still visit the church ‘virtually’ on boolavogue­church. ie and view the sanctuary via the embedded webcam. Masses are scheduled for 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday evening and at 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.

THE LATE CANON HARTLEY

Sincere sympathy is extened from all in Boolavogue to the Finn family, Kilcormac and the Hartley family Coolerin, New Ross on the death of the Very Reverend Noel Canon Hartley, who died on New Year’s Day.

Canon Hartley served as curate in Boolavogue from 1955 to 1969 and is survived by his brothers Bill, John and Martin, sisters Bridie, Margaret and Cathy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family. He was predecease­d by his brothers Paddy and Tom, his sisters Sr. Mary, Joan, Stasia and Teresa. His Requiem Mass, held in accordance with the government guidelines, was celebrated by Bishop Denis Brennan in St Mary’s Church, Litir (Kilmuckrid­ge), on Sunday, January 3.

MICHAEL JORDAN RIP

Sincere sympathy is also extended to the family of the late Michael Jordan RIP., Ballyorley House, who died after a long illness on Thursday, January 7.

Predecease­d by his beloved wife, Margaret, his brothers Fr Patrick, Fr Liam and Stephen, his sisters, Sr. Mary-Joseph and Nuala Rackard, he is survived by his children Edel, Yvonne, Mary-Therese, Michael and Mar

garet, his brother Jim, his sister Pam Rowe, his 14 grandchild­ren, one great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, neighbours and many friends.

A private family funeral took place in St Cormac’s Church on Friday the eighth. at midday followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
