GAA CLUB NOTES

The club sends its sympathies to the extended Owley family from the Rock, on the recent passing of the warrior that was Bill Owley. RIP.

The club also extend sympathy to the family of Joe Considine, who died in the past week, Joe was a very valued member of the senior winning football team of 1974, and for 30 years as a teacher in Kilanerin national school Joe was very much involved in Rackard League teams and always encouraged every child to participate in a team whether it be rounders, hurling, football, chess. May he rest in peace.

The annual club raffle is taking place on Saturday, January 23. Top prize is €500 plus 15 additional great prizes. Tickets are €5 each (three for €10) and are available from any club member or directly from Eleanor at 087 6852402. This year’s budget will rely very much on this draw to progress the clubhouse extension. Please support the prize sponsors.

There were neither a jackpot nor match-three winner in the lotto draw of the 29th. There were four quick pick €50 winners instead. The numbers were 2, 13, 20 and 24. Next draw for €5,900 takes place on January 11.

You may already notice a stretch in the evenings, a sure sign that spring is not far away. Likewise, COVID allowing, a resumption of training may only be weeks, rather than months, away too.
