SCHOOL ENROLMENT

Parents/guardians who wish to enrol children into junior infants at Ballycanew National School for September 2021 may download the applicatio­n form from our website ballycanew­ns.ie during our admission term from January 14 to February 4. Only fully completed Applicatio­n forms will be accepted accompanie­d by relevant paperwork.

Admission policy can be viewed on our school website ballycanew­ns.ie. Applicatio­ns will be accepted between January 14 to February 4. You may return the fully completed forms by post to the school address or scan and email to prinicpal@ballycanew­ns.ie.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Congratula­tions to the winners of split-the-pot January 2 – dual winners were Trevor Kenny and Colin Kavanagh. Prize money was €120 each. Thanks to everyone for your continued support.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Ireland, split-thepot will be suspended till Level 5 restrictio­ns are eased. Thanks for your understand­ing and support.

LITTLE DUCKLINGS

Avail of the free playschool facility with Little Ducklings for your child. Little Ducklings Playschool are now taking enrolments for September 2021. Limited places available so contact Andrea at 087 9437166 to secure your child’s place now.

COMMUNITY DEVELOMENT

Ballycanew/Ballyought­er Community Develoment Associatio­n are currently working on getting carpet bowls into the community resource center as soon as possible however we are experienci­ng delays with COVID-19 production problems and also with Brexit.

We are working as hard as

possible to get them available to the community as soon as possible. So bear with us while we navigate these issues.

CLOTHING BANKS

The recycling clothes bank are now back up and running. We have a new clothes collection contract for the banks. If the clothes bank is full please don’t leave bags beside it. The school will make a small profit from the banks.

TEXT ALERT

Please report any suspicious activity to Gorey Garda Station. For our vital system to work it is important that members of the public to report directly to the local garda station to ensure our system works effectivel­y. It is imperative that anything you feel is worth reporting goes directly to 053 9430690 so that it can be sent out on our text alert system. Let’s continue to make our community a safer place.
