ANTHONY WOODS

Photographer Anthony Woods has been shooting the great and the good (and not so good) for over 20 years now. Having travelled the globe working for various publications in the field of portrait photography, he has seen, if not all, then certainly a good chunk of what the career has to offer. “There have been so many great faces and stories. Environmental portraiture is probably my favourite thing to do. Every day starts in a new location, a new canvas to paint ideas onto. I love the challenge of building a picture that tells a person’s story in one frame, tailoring it to the obvious or the subtle, depending on the subject,” says Anthony. These days, when he’s not behind the camera, he’s most likely found jumping around on horseback. For this issue, he photographed our IMAGE Businesswoman of the Year award-winners on page 113.

SUZIE COEN

Freelance fashion stylist, journalist and shoot producer, Suzie Coen specialises in advertising (TV commercials, print campaigns and branded content), but adores the creative pulse of editorials, from lifestyle features to inspirational house style snoops. “As a die-hard design maximalist, I was intrigued to see how a restrained, understated minimalist home would feel. Stepping into Kim Gray’s family home, with its emphasis on considered décor and eco-friendly living, was an education in that back-tobasics interior style. It’s the ultimate design palate cleanser.” Take a tour with Suzie on page 26.

ESTHER O’MOORE DONOHOE

Esther is a writer and broadcaster from Dublin. On her podcast, The 80%, she talks to guests such as Amy Huberman and Doireann Garrihy about being 80 per cent happy with their success. Her new podcast, Esther is in Bits, sees her chat with experts about subjects including fertility, sleep and heartbreak. She can also be heard every morning on The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Today FM. “In 2019, I started to tick ambitions, both big and small, off my endless to-do list. For IMAGE, I wanted to write something that may encourage others to do the same. 2020 is for more doin’, less (over-)thinkin’.” Turn to page 176 to get fired up.

Billy Orr

“The key to pared back beauty starts with the skin,” says celebrity make-up artist Billy Orr, who hails from Scotland but has lived in Dublin for more than a decade. Billy works mainly on fashion shoots, entertainment TV shows, and with stars including Lyra, Lady Gaga and Hozier. “I like to spend time prepping the face with hydrating serums and illuminating primers. This gives an instant glow and creates the perfect base to work on. For hair, it’s all about the retro wave. I like to brush out the ends for a second-day-lived-in look.” See the results of Billy’s work on the cover and our shoot on page 32.
