IT’S ALL GREEK
The opening night of Medea at the Gate Theatre
Cillian Murphy, Kathleen Watkins, Claudia Carroll, Disney Ireland’s Trish Long, Paul Brady, Hilda Fay, Rosaleen Linehan and author Liz Nugent were among the famous faces spotted at the opening night of Medea in Dublin’s Gate Theatre.
This modern adaptation of the famous Greek tragedy took the story of the titular character’s two young boys, and looked at their parents’ marriage breakdown through the children’s voices. A contemporary bedroom setting full of LEGO, toys and glow stars gave the play a new interpretation for modern audiences. The after-party saw actor Eileen Walsh celebrate with the production’s two young stars, Elijah O’Sullivan and Luke O’Donoghue, whose proud parents were also in attendance. Bravo.
