ITH Rosanna Davison strutting her stuff and Vogue Williams spinning a few records, Virginia Macari’s hotly anticipated launch of her latest couture swimwear collection in Marbella last night was star-studded.

And the Paradise collection – exclusively revealed in today’s YOU magazine – is equally impressive.

‘I wanted to do something more daring with certain styles,’ said the Dubliner of her fourth swimwear collection, speaking to You from her Marbella home. ‘My designs are classic and always timeless. I’m 41 so I think about my age and upwards but the classic cuts also look so good on younger girls and they last forever.’

Instagram- crazy Virginia admits she’s always keeping her eye on trends but wants to maintain practicality as well.

‘ There’s the show-stopping, stand- out-fromthe- crowd pieces for beach and pool parties but also just to relax in one on the beach, reading a book, being comfortable in your own body. Right now there’s a lot of ties and strings and wrapping and I wanted to inject a bit of that.’

The Paradise collection features stylish beach cover-ups, statement bikinis and the return of the elegant one-piece swimsuit – staying true to Virginia’s classic and timeless vibe. ‘It’s not all about baring skin but elegant pieces, that you can style up, to draw attention and highlight your good parts,’ she says. ‘ To flatter the tummy, the rouching acts like a suction cup and I’ve a lot of boning on the side that’s double-lined to hold you in and flatter the figure.’

Virginia admits that getting beach ready is not always an easy experience but her collection can help anyone find the right outfit.

‘It can be a nervous time for women, but there’s a swimsuit for everyone’s body shape.’
